Ayurveda To Prevent Cancer

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian method of medicine. It uses a wide range of treatments and techniques. There is no reliable evidence to support its use as a cure for cancer. Ayurveda is an Indian word. The word ‘Ayur’ means life and the word ‘veda’ means knowledge.

Ayurvedic medicines can include:

·       guidance on diet and special diets
·       taking specific Ayurvedic medications
·       massage
·       meditation
·       yoga, breathing and relaxation techniques
·       bowel cleansing

Why people with cancer use ayurveda?

People with cancer use touch therapies such as massage and aromatherapy. Many people say these therapies help them to deal better with cancer and its treatment. Research is looking into whether some herbs or plant treatments used in Ayurveda medicine for cancer.

But, we still don't know much about few of the treatments that are part of Ayurvedic medicine. These include treatments like special diets and herbal remedies. These treatments could be unhealthy to your health or interfere with conventional treatment such as cancer drugs and radiotherapy.

How Ayurveda Sees Cancer

In Ayurveda, any imbalance in the body system is created by the overexpression or under expression of one or more of the Doshas. Hence, all disease starts with them. Dosha imbalance can head to dis-ease according to the following basic stages:

Accumulation − where one or more than one of the Doshas has increased.

Aggravation − as levels increase for one Dosha, this becomes reason for the remaining Doshas to become imbalanced.

Overflow − the accumulated Dosha increases into the body carrying Aama, or toxic waste products.

Localization − the Dosha establishes at a weak site in the body.

Manifestation − i.e. symptoms.

Disease − this would be the point where a conventional doctor would make an analysis of dis-ease, such as a particular type of cancer.

One major indication of health and vitality, according to Ayurveda, is the capability of the body to adapt the changing environments and external stimuli. When the body is not able to adapt, this disturbs the communication between body functions. The process of communication disruption can also be provoked by Aama.
